OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A project wrapped up in Oak Creek that will help make outdoor spaces a safer place. Ten new outdoor AEDs have been installed at schools and community spaces throughout Oak Creek.
Although AEDs were already inside each school building, the new addition provides protection to those who use the playgrounds past school hours.
"We wanted to make sure that if someone was in our playgrounds and they had a cardiac incident that they could be saved by the use of one of our AEDs, so it was really about making a safer community," said Lisa Reid, district safety coordinator.
The project was made possible due to a large amount of fundraising, which included a $30,000 donation from the Oak Creek Lions Club.
