MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The suspect involved in a crash that led to the death of one person and the injury of others has been identified as 32-year-old A'Jena Wynn-Howard of Milwaukee.

Investigators determine that five seconds before the crash, her car was traveling at 96 mph, and the final data recorded before impact registered her car at 102 mph. The speed limit in the area is 35 mph.

In a criminal complaint, 55-year-old Tonya Missouri-Smith is identified as the driver who died in the accident. Her sold told officials that his mother was driving in their Chevrolet Traverse. When turning right onto 76th from Marion, he said their Traverse was struck from behind and that his mother was laying on the steering wheel unresponsive.

Officials say she was determined dead at the scene with multiple injuries consistent with blunt trauma.

Another injured victim was in a parked Jeep Patriot on 76th and told officials that her Jeep was hit by another vehicle, causing it to overturn onto the passenger side, leading to a fractured vertebrae and bleeding to the brain.

Wynn-Howard faces charges of first-degree reckless homicide plus multiple counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.


MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 55-year-old is dead and three other people are injured following a three-car wreck near 76th and Marion Street on Sat. May 10. 

Officials say at around 11:51 p.m., a speeding vehicle collided with a second vehicle, causing major damage to both. 

The second vehicle was then forced into and hit a third parked vehicle. 

The 55-year-old driver of the second vehicle suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Two other passengers, an 18-year-old and 28-year-old also suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. 

Police say they arrested the 32-year-old driver of the first vehicle who sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

The case will be forwarded to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
