OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Earlier today, Sept. 25, hundreds of Molson Coors employees joined forces to keep their community green.
They collectively planted over 1,000 trees in the Mequon Nature Reserve.
Those native saplings were planted thanks to a challenge put on by Sweet Water, a local non-profit.
This is the second year of partnership with Molson Coors.
The goal is to raise awareness about the local environment and give back to the community with an environmental focus.
"It's really exciting to be out here again a year later and see the result of what we planted last year and then be able to add to it this year," said Vice President of Sustainability Rachel Schneider.
Last year, volunteers were able to plant 900 trees, this year they got over 1,000.
While this is just the second year of partnership, they say in the future, they hope to continue to grow and branch out.
