YouTube legend Mr. Beast challenges Kenosha content creator in contest against Giannis Antetokounmpo

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's been 10 years since Tristan Jass of Kenosha first began posting content on social media.

Now, the influencer has garnered 5.6 million followers on YouTube, with his channel reaching more than one billion views.

His content mostly centers around basketball, with Jass meeting up with NBA All-Stars like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Damian Lillard.

“I think I grew up just loving the game of basketball," Jass told CBS 58's Ellie Nakamoto-White.

But recently, he was offered one of his biggest collaborations to date.

“They’re like, yo, we’re gonna be in town, gonna fly in, film, and fly out, so we’d love to have you," Jass recalled. 

YouTube legend Mr. Beast, who is known for social media challenges, sent Jass a message asking him to participate in a video where he would have to go head-to-head in a shooting challenge against Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. 

The first person to make a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer, and a half-court shot would win $100,000.

“Mr. Beast is the biggest YouTuber in the world," Jass said. "He's a great guy."

So, the three met up at Fiserv Forum to film the challenge.

Just minutes in, Jass would hit his half-court shot on his second attempt, beating Antetokounmpo who had just finished his free throw.

“I told Giannis, I said, "Hey man, gotta hit your free throws, man!'" Jass said. 

But for Jass, it wasn't about the win -- it's about what came next.

He decided to donate $10,000 to the Shalom Center in Kenosha, which acts as a homeless shelter, food pantry, resource hub, and more.

“We’re very grateful to Tristan for his generous donation to the Shalom Center," said Executive Director Esther Roberts. “Donations from the community are essential. Vital for the Shalom Center to continue its mission.”

As for what he plans to do with the rest of the money?

Nine fans have the opportunity to each win $10,000 in giveaways. The instructions on how to enter will be found in Jass' upcoming videos.
