OAK CREEK (CBS 58) -- A father with his son in his arms jumps in front of his own car as it's being stolen. Fortunately, everyone was okay.
Cole White was picking up his son from 'Kids and Care' daycare center near 20th and Rawson last month. He parked right by the door and when he came out, there were two men in his car. He says he wasn't inside for more than three minutes.
"I tried to block off the car and that wasn't the best idea. They tried to run me over with my kid in my arms," White said.
White's Chrysler was recovered. Police say that roughly 20 minutes after the car was taken, the thieves crashed the car in West Allis and abandoned it.
White says it was his own mistake that led to all this -- he left the car running when he ran to get his son.
"You're not safe anywhere. Don't ever leave the car running because it happens anywhere. I was on 20th and Rawson. I did not think something like that would happen."
White says the man who was driving his car has been arrested.
