Young Germantown man found dead inside his home

GERMANTOWN -- Concerns about explosives at a Germantown apartment put a neighborhood on lockdown for the afternoon. Within the hour police cleared the scene along Windsor Court in Germantown.

Germantown police called the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad to the scene. The Germantown Police Chief Peter Howell says a man in his mid 20's didn't show up to work so they came to check up on him.

Chief Howell said, \"We brought the bomb squad on scene, because there were items in the room where the body was found that we felt were suspicious and we're uncomfortable handling them. They examined them and found the scene to be safe.\"

One condo unit was evacuated, but say at no time was anyone in danger.

The chief won't go into detail about what they found in the room, but says he believes the death is not criminal or suspicious.

Germantown police are awaiting results of an autopsy for the exact cause of death.
