MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Coalition for Safe Driving MKE will be holding an event for the World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16.
Ahead of the event, local leaders and grieving family and friends gathered at City Hall to remember the lives that have been lost in Milwaukee due to traffic violence and continue their call to action to all members of the community to join the fight against reckless driving.
"If you don't have a person that's been impacted, use my person, let me tell you about them. Erin existed, Xavier existed, right - all of these people existed, and once you take it personally, I think you're going to be a part of the change," said Ruth Ehrgott, mother and grandmother of traffic death victims.
The World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims public event will run Saturday from 1-3:30 p.m. at the PEAK Initiative building in Milwaukee.
It is free and no registration is required.
