MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's a hard time for dairy farmers with record low milk prices, tariffs, and an uncertainty in foreign markets.
But, the World Dairy Expo which starts Tuesday in Madison hopes to bring optimism to dairy farmers struggling with an uncertain future.
"We can't control the weather. We can't control milk prices, not only in the US but also globally. We can't even control certain political dynamics but what we can control is the attitude and the atmopshere as hosts of this great event," said Scott Bentley, General Manager with the World Dairy Expo.
The expo runs through Saturday. It features seminars on key issues facing dairy farmers along with business opportunities for the agriculture community.
