World Cup fans pack Deer District, Mecca Sports Bar

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The U.S. women's team capped off a perfect run in the group stage of the World Cup.

The U.S. defeated Sweden 2-0 on Thursday.

People in Milwaukee headed to the Deer District to watch the game.

The Bucks season may be over, but the area surrounding Fiserv Forum was the place to be to watch soccer on the world stage.

People say they're glad there's a sports hub in the city.

"We came here to the Mecca," World Cup viewer Sarah Schimpf said. "We're glad to be here, we're excited that Milwaukee has an opportunity and a place for us to come."

The women's team will face Spain on Monday in the round of sixteen.
