Woman struck and killed by train in Slinger Friday night

SLINGER, WI (CBS 58) -- A woman was killed Friday night when she was struck by a train in the Village of Slinger.   The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that the woman was struck by a Canadian National train around  9:30 Friday night near Maple Avenue in the Town of Polk.   When Washington County deputies, officers from the Slinger Police Department and Lifestar Rescue and Slinger Fire Department  arrived on scene they found the woman’s body near the tracks.   The CN train was held on the scene for about six hours as authorities investigated the accident.   The name of the decease has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
