Woman shot while walking along city street

The Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting in the area of N 26^th Street and W Kilbourn Avenue Thursday night.   According to the Police, a 22-year-old woman was struck by gunfire as she walking in the area around 9:20 PM.  The Police said an unknown suspect fired several times at the woman.   The Milwaukee Fire Department treated the victim on the scene and then transported her to a local hospital.  She is expected to survive her wounds.

The investigation of the shooting is on-going and the MPD is continuing to search for the suspect.
