Police: Woman killed in Brookfield crash identified, medical condition may have contributed to accident

According to the Brookfield police, the operator of the car that crossed the median has been identified as Amy Hiley of Wauwatosa. Preliminary investigation indicates that a medical condition may have contributed to the crash, according to police. 


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Brookfield police say a woman has died following a crash on Capitol Drive Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 14. 

It happened just before 1 p.m. west of Calhoun Road. 

According to preliminary reports, a vehicle traveling westbound on Capitol Drive crossed the raised median and crashed into three eastbound vehicles on Capitol Drive. 

The driver of the vehicle that crossed the median was a woman in her early 40s. Brookfield Fire and EMS personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but she did not survive. 

Police say two of the three other eastbound motorists were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. 

An investigation is ongoing.
