Woman and her boyfriend burglarize grandfather's home, sell his belongings at local pawn shops

JACKSON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 74-year-old Jackson man called the police to report that he was burglarized by his granddaughter and her boyfriend.

The man told police that he was allowing them to live with him while they got back on their feet. The man told police that both were drug users but he believed they were clean and attempting to straighten their lives out.

While he was out of town, his daughter checked the residence and noticed that a 55-inch television was missing and the safe was emptied out. Upon the man's return, he also noticed that electronic devices, jewelry, and tools were stolen.

The granddaughter and her boyfriend were nowhere to be found.

The items turned up at pawnshops in West Allis and West Bend.

The case remains under investigation.
