Woman Arrested for Apartment Burglaries on North Prospect Avenue
Milwaukee Police arrested a suspect wanted in a Downtown burglary and believe she could be responsible for several other similar crimes.
The suspect, a 19-year-old woman, was taken into custody and officers are determining whether the suspect could be responsible for other similar burglaries in the area.
District One officers responded to the 900 block of East Wells Street for a report of a burglary around 7:20 p.m. on December 27.
The victim, a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers the suspect entered her apartment and stole her cell phone.
Officers in the area saw a woman who matched the suspect’s description and stopped her.
The suspect had the victim’s cell phone on her and her purse was full of items stolen from several apartments in the 1600 block of North Prospect Avenue in the prior days.
