Wohler's wait all worth it in the end

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Badgers safety and Muskego native Hunter Wohler had an excruciating wait, finally picked in the seventh and final round by Indy. Our Lance Allan caught up with him at NX Level in Waukesha before he left for rookie camp.

"Colts! It was emotional. Just a lot of emotions," Hunter Wohler says. "It was a long day. Just uncertainly. Hope. Just kind of, just waiting to get a phone call. And when the call came through, like you saw in the video, just all the emotions. I mean myself, my parents, my sister. Like everyone was just, you know, grateful, thankful. Blessed just to have an opportunity. So, it was a long day but so, so worth it."

The wait made him doubt and think about pivoting with his NFL dream. But later, he rebounded by leaning on his Christian faith.

"You start wondering, you know, if you're going to have to start making decisions about potentially going undrafted," Wohler says. "Like I said, it's just hoping. Hoping someone takes you and someone gives you a chance. But it's just, you know, as hard as it was in the moment, just trusting in God and knowing that, you know, he's got a plan and it's gonna work out however he wants it to."
