PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Prairie Du Sac man with terminal cancer is asking for Christmas cards this year.
Gene Weittenhiller stopped undergoing chemotherapy for cancer in August.
To make his last Christmas memorable, Gene's family asked anyone and everyone to send him a holiday card.
Three young men from Milwaukee who do not know Gene saw his story and wanted to help. But they wanted to do more than simply mail a card.
Markeith Powell, Marqwain Givhan and Earl Minley pooled their gas money and drove to Gene's front door with cards in hand.
"We told him we saw your post on social media and he's like really, I'm like yeah, we didn't have nothing to do today and we just decided to come up here today to make you smile."
They hugged and prayed and together they cried. They left him with words of encouragement, while receiving a lesson in return.
"It make us realize how precious life is, the stuff we are going through ain't nothing."
