NEWARK, Ohio -- (10TV) A 40-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a child that was reported missing the previous day.

Newark Division of Police, with the assistance of the Dublin Police Department, apprehended Christopher J. Forncrook.

Newark Police were called to a home on W. Main Street Monday evening on a report of a missing child.

Newark Police say it was reported that a 12-year-old girl had left the home a few hours earlier to go on a bike ride but never returned at dark as requested. The girl did not have a history of being a runaway and was in a pleasant mood, according to the family.

Detectives, with help from the girl's family, determined the child had established an online relationship with Forncrook and there was a plan for the two to meet in Newark.

Detectives were able to determine Forncrook left Wisconsin early Monday morning and also found that he had checked into a Dublin Hotel on the same day.

The girl returned home around 10:30 p.m. Monday and was evaluated by medical staff and interviewed by the Licking County Kids Team (which included representatives from Newark Police, Licking County Children Services and Licking Memorial Health Systems).

Forncrook is facing charges of kidnapping and gross sexual imposition. Those, along with other potential charges, will be reviewed by the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office.
