Wisconsin Man Convicted of Killing His Wife and Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) -- A 59-year-old Bancroft man convicted of killing his wife will spend 30 years in prison.

Larry Sanchez pleaded guilty to first degree reckless homicide in the June 2015 death of his wife Lisa Sanchez, 44 during a plea deal in July.

In exchange for the plea the charge of murder and homicide by intoxicated use of a firearm were dismissed. A fourth charge, failing to comply with an officer was dismissed, but were considered during his sentencing.

Sanchez was arrested after four hours of negotiations following the June 3 shooting. It happened on the 8300 block of Division Street in Bancroft. The incident was first reported around 10:52 a.m. Lisa Sanchez died of a gunshot wound to the neck.

Sanchez will spend 10 years on extended supervision upon his release.
