MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Who doesn't love a good old fashioned?
A brandy old fashioned that is. Some Wisconsin Lawmakers are looking to make the drink our official state cocktail.
The brandy old fashioned worked was popularized after World War II, when the distilleries across the U.S. halted their work so we could supply Europe grain.
During that time some Wisconsinites discovered 30,000 cases of brandy and brought it to the market. It was then used as a substitute for other spirits and became a hit ingredient in the old fashioned.
