WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- PFAS is a class of chemicals also known as "forever chemicals" because they resist breaking down in the environment.
The chemicals have been used in a wide variety of products from kitchenware to firefighting foam.
On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources hosted a media briefing to provide information about a new interactive PFAS data tool.
"This is just the kind of tool people are looking for," said Kyle Burton of the Wisconsin DNR's drinking water and groundwater program. "They can refer to the tool to find out if the public water system that is supplying them with their drinking water has sampled, and what those results are."
You can find a link to the PFAS data viewer here.
