Wisconsin corn maze highlights suicide prevention

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Your life matters." That's the mental health message a Wisconsin corn maze is sharing with the world.

The maze in Menomonie has had different designs over the years, but this year the owners decided to focus on suicide prevention to mark the upcoming fall season.

The maze also includes the National Suicide Hotline number. The owners of the maze lost a family member to suicide six months ago.

"Everybody is somebody's most important person," said Govin's Meats & Berries co-owner John Govin. "If we can make a difference, if we can save a life this fall, that's worth it."

The maze also has an area for children that focuses on anti-bullying efforts.

The corn maze is located west of Eau Claire and opens on Sept. 21.
