MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau is highlighting an increase in investment scams, with President Jim Temmer joining us on Monday, Sept. 16 to discuss financial losses reported over the past three years.
He noted that more than 4,000 investment scam reports have been filed with BBB's Scam Tracker, with a median loss of $4,000 in 2023.
Due to the connection between investment and cryptocurrency scams, the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust has named investment and cryptocurrency fraud as the riskiest scam type of 2023.
