MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Robert Heckel joined us on Wednesday, Oct. 15 to share his story and his new book, "Boat Shows: The Lifeline of the Marine World."
Born in Novosibirsk, Russia and adopted into a Wisconsin family, Heckel grew up surrounded by boats and the people who build and sell them. Despite living with cerebral palsy, he built a career that took him across the globe, from Europe to the Middle East, working in international boat sales.
He says his book explores how boat shows bring the marine industry to life, blending personal stories with lessons in authenticity, empathy and connection.
More information about his book can be found by clicking here.
