Wisconsin announces new football signings for class of 2016

   MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin has signed five additional football players to its class of 2016.
   Hawaii transfer cornerback Nick Nelson and Pittsburgh running back transfer Chris James will both join the Badgers on scholarship, but will sit out the 2016 season. Each will have two years of eligibility remaining.
   Nelson made 89 tackles and had 21 passes defended at Hawaii over the past two seasons. James ran for 690 yards and four touchdowns in two seasons for Pittsburgh.
   The Wisconsin State Journal reports three walk-ons also will join the Badgers.
   Gabe Lloyd, a tight end from Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran, had previously committed to North Dakota State before switching to a walk-on for Wisconsin.
   Wide receiver Adam Krumholz of Stoughton and quarterback Garrett Groshek of Amherst will also join the team as walk-ons.
