Wisconsin Air National Guard to conduct evening training flights this week

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard will be conducting evening training flights this week across Wisconsin.

Officials say the evening training flights will occur Monday, August 23, through Thursday, August 26, 2021 and again Tuesday, August 31 through Thursday, Sep. 2.

Reports indicate that during this time area residents may see or hear F-16 fighter jets taking off or landing until approximately 10:00 p.m.

The National Guard says that training flights normally take place during daylight hours, but pilots and maintenance personnel are also required to conduct nighttime operations as a part of their overall readiness.

During the evening training, pilots are expected to follow flight paths designed to minimize noise to area residents.

The 115th Fighter Wing announced that they appreciate the overall support we have from the citizens of Wisconsin and the greater Madison area as they continue to train in support of our state and federal missions.
