Wisconsin AD Shawn Eichorst on the future of Fickell and Badgers football

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Recently, CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allan had the chance for a one-on-one interview with new Wisconsin Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst. And clearly one topic that will come up -- the state of the Badgers football program and Luke Fickell. The Wisconsin head football coach acknowledged at Big Ten media day in Chicago that he's on the "hot seat."

Lance Allan asked, "How do you judge as you get into the seat, progress? Luke Fickell? The whole situation so to speak?"

"You know, a couple things. Football is really important," Eichorst responded. "It's important to the state. It's important to the institution. It's important to the department. And so that will always be important to us right? Two, the way that I can help and support is to learn. And so I need to spend a lot of time listening and looking and learning. I'm coming in with no agenda. Every place does it differently. There's uniqueness to it all. You've been around football, a lot. Both at college and the pro football. The margin is so thin. Especially today."
