Whitewater Fire Department responds to restaurant fire

Whitewater, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Whitewater Fire Department responded to a fire at Rosa’s Pizza located at 180 W. Main St. in Whitewater at 6:10 a.m. this morning. Although no injuries were recorded, the restaurant did report damages estimated at $300,000.
Firefighters were also tasked with rescuing animals from a nearby shelter as well. All animals were evacuated without being harmed.
Eight adults and one child were forced from their homes as a result of the fire. They were living in a multi-family dwelling. The American Red Cross is assisting the families.
The Whitewater Fire Department was assisted by multiple local fire departments to bring the fire under control in 45 minutes.
