West Bend Woman Arrested After Small Child Found Running in Street

A West Bend woman was arrested for child neglect after her small child was found running in the roadway unsupervised.

The incident happened on the 1200 Block of Alder Street at 8:15 PM on Tuesday.

According to West Bend Police, a motorist stopped, removed the child from the roadway and attempted to locate a parent of the child.

The motorist was unable to locate the child’s parent or home and contacted the Police.

Responding officers took custody of the child and a short time later were able to locate the parent.

The mother, a 31 year old West Bend woman, had been in the basement of her home when the child left the residence through a door that had not been closed properly.

This was not an isolated incident involving this family.

The 31 year old woman was arrested for Child Neglect and placed in jail. Two small children were removed from the home and placed in foster care.
