West Bend Police find man passed out behind the wheel with open bottle of beer

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 45-year-old West Bend man is arrested for his third OWI after police say he passed out behind the wheel.

Around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, April 28, police reported they got a tip from someone saying there was a vehicle on Bender Road and that the driver appeared to be passed out in the driver's seat.

When an officer found the vehicle, the engine was still running and a man was seen in the driver's seat with an open bottle of beer between his legs.

Police say the driver was drunk, failed field sobriety tests, and his PBT sample tested at nearly three times the legal limit.

The man was arrested for OWI-3rd offense and for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
