West Bend Police arrest woman's ex-husband for stabbing her boyfriend

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Bend Police were called to a home on Barton Avenue Tuesday night around 11 p.m. after an argument between a woman's ex-husband and present boyfriend escalated into an attempted homicide.

The woman said that during the fight her 32-year-old ex-husband stabbed her 33-year-old boyfriend several times. When officers arrived the 33-year-old was bleeding severely and had a deep cut to his chest and two stab wounds to his right arm. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The ex-husband fled the scene before officers arrived and was found by police in some woods near the apartment building. The man was arrested and taken to the hospital for a minor face injury he got during the fight.

The suspect told police that the fight was over an accusation that the boyfriend hit the woman the day before. The boyfriend had been arrested, but no charges were filed by the DA so he was released.

Police arrested the ex-husband on charges of attempted homicide. The boyfriend is in stable condition at the hospital.
