West Bend man arrested after allegedly driving drunk with children, ages 5 and 8, in car

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 39-year-old West Bend man has been taken into custody after police say he drove drunk with his children in the car.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Sunflower Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday for a report of a drunk driver.

Upon arrival, officers observed signs that the man was intoxicated. He failed standardized field sobriety tests.

The man had his 5-year-old and 8-year-old children as passengers in the car.

He was arrested for OWI 2nd Offense and Bailjumping as he was out on bail for an open criminal case which required him to maintain absolute sobriety.
