WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A new pizza aims to support AIDS patients in the Milwaukee area. In recognition of World AIDS Day on Friday, Dec. 1, Flour Girl & Flame is introducing the Hopeful Harvest Pizza.
This special-edition pizza is part of a charitable effort, with a portion of the proceeds going to Vivent Health, an organization dedicated to serving the HIV+ community.
Margaret Lidstone, Chief Development Officer at Vivent Health, and Dana Spandet, Executive Chef at Flour Girl & Flame joined us on Thursday, Nov. 30 to discuss the pizza and its impact on patients with AIDS in the Milwaukee area.
The Hopeful Harvest Pizza features a pimento cheese base, Wisconsin mozzarella, Nueske's smoked pepper bacon, peppadews, wood roasted garlic, caramelized delicata squash, house bourbon barrel honey finish and scallion.
Each ingredient of the pizza is said to have been chosen to represent hope, unity and resilience.
