West Allis: over 50 cars broken into, 7 in custody
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Over 50 car break-ins occurred on the west end of West Allis on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 8 and early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 9, according to West Allis police officers.
Reported incidents have been west of Highway 100 so far.
WAPD took five subjects into custody. The subjects include four juveniles and one adult who was on probation for armed robbery. They are all Milwaukee residents.
Around the same time, WAPD and New Berlin police took an additional two subjects into custody following a vehicle pursuit. The subjects are both Milwaukee residents and adults. The pursuit was initiated by New Berlin police while investigating several car break-ins in New Berlin. The pursuit ended in West Allis after a stop stick deployment, according to officials.
Police are not yet sure if the two groups of subjects are related.
The West Allis incidents will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office and the New Berlin incidents will be presented to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office.
