Welcome to August. Bring on The Heat, Humidity, & Storms
No calendar confusion this week. It's August, and it'll feel like it, especially for the start of State Fair on Thursday when temperatures will reach 90 degrees. Any humidity will make it feel like at least 100 degrees.
But the Dog Days of Summer will be short-lived, at least this week, as we cool down to more seasonable levels.
In the meantime, an area of low pressure will move across the area later Tuesday into early Wednesday. This will signal showers and storms. Some of the rain could be heavy, and there's even a marginal risk of severe weather on Tuesday.
Another area of low pressure will trek across the area as well late Thursday into Friday. This will cause another bout of precipitation, but it should all be out of here Friday afternoon, just in time for the weekend.
