GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58's Sport Director Lance Allen was live inside Lambeau Field tonight for a very special reason as Micah Parsons says he will take up Curly Lambeau's unofficially retired number one jersey - only worn once 99 years ago in 1926.
At his introductory press conference, the new Packers rusher couldn't believe the passion of Packers fans as the trade went down.
“I see packer nation kind of going like crazy,” said Parsons. “And like I never really knew how crazy the fan base was and how excited you know this fan base gets you know obviously I've played here before but you know just seeing the fan base and all the encouraged, excited, they couldn't wait to have me here you know that means a lot.”
General Manager Brian Gutekunst said at the press conference “These guys want to win and they know this is an opportunity to help us win football games. So, I'm sure there will be some excitement. The timing was a little bit different they were kind of out of here before all of this kind of went down.”
“What a rare, rare, rare opportunity to get a guy of his caliber, I was like heck yeah these opportunities just don't come about,” Head Coach Matt LaFleur says.
