Wet start to the last week of September
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – With high school football in its last week of the regular season, the CBS 58 Tailgate is heading to Catholic Memorial.
The team has their sights set on a Classic 8 conference title. All they have to do is beat undefeated Waukesha West on the road – a tall order but even after losing 15 starters from last year, the Crusaders have proven they’re up to the challenge.
“It’s a great challenge. We're going to be the underdog going into this game, but if our kids embrace the challenge of playing against a great team, and give us a great effort, we have a great shot to win the game,” says Coach Bill Young.
“We gotta get the ball in the end zone on offense and be able to stop them on defense. It's easier said than done, but I think we're ready to do it,” said Tight End/Reciever Michael Naze.
“I think our leadership and the bond of our teammates, I think that's got us here. We've got a real close bond. We're always playing together. We're always there for each other, picking each other up. I think that's a huge factor in how we've been playing,” says CJ Goetz, Catholic Memorial Linebacker/Tight End.
