BROOKFIELD (CBS 58) -- The Brookfield East Spartans have had all off season to let their Division 2 state title sink in, now it's time to get back to work.
Week one of high school football will begin on Friday and CBS 58 followed the Spartans as they set out to defend their title on Friday night at Wauwatosa West.
They lose a backfield tank with Sam Santiago-Lloyd off to the college ranks but the defense looks to be clutch with three returning all-conference starters that helped the team to five shoutouts last year. The key to a repeat season? Always forward, never back!
“We talked with our guys at the start of the year. We are not going to be talking about last year. However special that was and an incredible moment that was for our school and we will always have that. But we are moving forward,” says Spartans Head Coach Ben Farley.
“It’s not even about trying to repeat that last year. It’s just taking it one game at a time,” says Spartans LB Bradley Dati.
Join us Thursday as we take a look at Wauwatosa West.
