Website launched to help MPD detective diagnosed with cancer

A major effort is underway to help a Milwaukee Police Detective, recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Chris \"Blazo\" Blaszak was diagnosed with a rare form of jaw cancer. He's been through many surgeries, but the cancer continues to spread.

The 43-year-old Milwaukee Lieutenant and Air Force Veteran went to the dentist a few months ago and that's when he found out he had the aggressive disease.

As Blaszak's medical bills continue to pile up, the Surg Restaurant group decided to launch a website to help him and his family.

\"He's a good cop, a War Veteran, with 3 kids... we felt the need to help him,\" said Omar Shaikh, co-owner of the Surg Restaurant Group.

Star athletes like Aaron Rodgers, Donald Driver and Ryan Braun have made generous donations.

\"We have five incredible auction items. Randall cobb is one, where he'll come to your office and do an employee appreciation  day and take pictures and sign things for an hour... There's also a meet and greet with Jabari Parker and court side tickets the bucks donated,\" said Shaikh.

The auction items will be available on the site for the next ten days.
