MILWUAKEE (CBS58) -- For the fifth year, motorcyclists with the Milwaukee HOG Chapter ride to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
"People fought in all weathers to give us the freedoms that we have, and Memorial Day is a day to remember them and not just cook hamburgers and brats on the grills, but to remember those that gave their all," said Jerry DeGroot Milwaukee HOG Chapter Director.
DeGroot says he and his crew started doing this ride since Milwaukee does not have a Memorial Day parade.
Veteran and Assistant Head Rode Captain of the Milwaukee HOG Chapter, Daniel Davis, has been riding with the Milwaukee HOG Chapter for over 20 years. Davis says he wants people to remember the meaning of Memorial Day and does not want that to be forgotten. He says this ride is something they have to do.
"It shows that we are honoring our brothers and sisters who passed away and it shows we care, and we are doing something for that," said Davis.
The Milwaukee HOG Chapter will have rides like this throughout the summer. If you want to join them, click here.
