MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's An Ox Cafe did their part in making sure Milwaukee families are fed this holiday season.
Tuesday, the restaurant provided a free community meal, offering both American and Asian-style turkey.
One organizer emphasized the importance of togetherness and giving back.
"Well, we are a village, and we are supposed to take care of each other," organizer Lynetta Jackson said. "If you see someone lacking or going without, you need to reach out and help. I think we are our brothers and sisters' keeper and we should not allow anyone to go hungry in our community."
This is the first time An Ox Cafe has served free Thanksgiving meals, with hopes of making it a yearly tradition.
