Waukesha South plays opening game, with no opponent

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha South High School had a unique start to their season, a game with no opponent.

Nicolet canceled its varsity season because it didn't have enough players. Friday Waukesha South was supposed to unveil its new field in the game against Nicolet but had to come up with a plan 'b.

Instead of canceling the big game, they had a scrimmage, a family night, and had the school's dancers take to the field.

Fans say while it didn't go exactly as planned, it was a way to show off their school spirit and the field many were excited to unveil.
