Waukesha Sheriff's Office seeking help in finding 14-year-old girl

WAUKESHA -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is looking for a missing 14-year-old girl, believed to have left home on her own.


Her name is Sonja M. Tomasicyk and authorities say she was last seen Thursday afternoon at her home in the Village of Merton.


Sonja was is about 5'8, 150 pounds with brown eyes and has long, brown hair that runs to the middle of her back.


She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long sleeve shirt of unknown color covered by a dark grey sweatshirt, a puffy style winter coat, black, fuzzy boots and a velvet patchwork purse with colored patterns and flowers.


Authorities say the department is not treating her disappearance as an abduction.
