Waukesha School District cancels classes Tuesday, will continue to provide support for families

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha School District says classes are canceled Tuesday, Nov. 23, and per the school calendar, students will return to the classroom Monday, Nov. 29.

Despite the closure, the district will have counselors available Tuesday for students and staff in need of support.

"Further information and any additional updates will continue to be available on our district websites," said Superintendent Jim Sebert. "I am deeply sorry that we are here today and we look forward to healing both as a community and a larger Waukesha community."

Meals will be available again Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 12-1 p.m. for all Waukesha residents.

Meals can be picked up at the following sites:

  • Butler Middle School - Main Entrance
  • Horning Middle School - Main Entrance
  • Les Paul Middle School - Main Entrance
  • North High School - Main Entrance
  • South High School - Field House Entrance
  • West High School - Main Entrance

The district says distribution on Monday provided each person with breakfast and lunch for two days (Monday and Tuesday).

Distribution on Tuesday will provide breakfast and lunch Wednesday - Friday.
