Missing and 'endangered' 19-year-old from Waukesha found safe

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha police announced 19-year-old Aleksey Bass has been located safe on Friday, Oct. 15. 

Police said that around 2 a.m. Friday morning, Bass was located near Juniper and North.

Authorities reported officers found Bass, scared and hungry.

According to the announcement, officers utilized their Crisis Intervention Techniques to build a rapport with Bass.

Waukesha police said an officer quickly went to Kwik Trip to grab him a sandwich, drink and a piece of candy.

Bass was later reunited with his caretaker and family a short time later.

Police add that the original report was significantly delayed as Bass is known to typically return in situations where he goes missing.

Waukesha police were asking for the public's help locating Bass. They said Bass was missing and endangered.

Police said on Thursday, Oct. 14, Aleksey Bass ran from his caregiver near Wabash and Hartwell Avenue, to Catholic Memorial High School, where he was last seen. 

Police were notified around 5:17 p.m. and they were actively searching the area.

Aleksey is said to have several brain disabilities including a brain injury.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, gray shoes and a gray hoodie, pictured in this photo.
