Waukesha Police called after man claims to have gun, tries to take $3 from kids

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha Police Department was called to the 1500 block of Summit Avenue on Friday afternoon after someone called to report a man was threatening some children.

According to the caller, a man wanted to take $3 from some kids and he implied that he had a gun. He then allegedly reached towards the back of his pants and the kids ran away. 

A nearby school was placed on lock down while police were called out to search for the man.

Waukesha Police spoke with the kids who said that they were at Horeb Park when the man threatened having a gun, but no one saw it.

The man was located nearby. He was not found to be in possession of any weapons.

The investigation remains ongoing.
