Waukesha man arrested, accused of attempting to kidnap woman in Pewaukee

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred on Monday, Jan. 15, in the city of Pewaukee. 

The sheriff's office says a 40-year-old customer was leaving a business near Prospect and Elm around 1:48 p.m. when a man that was unknown to the victim approached her and picked her up off the ground. 

The woman was able to get away from the man uninjured and ran back into the business. Officials say the suspect left the area in a vehicle. 

Sheriff's officials say the suspect was identified as a 37-year-old from Waukesha. Detectives located the man at his home and made an arrest. 

Charges of attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and disorderly conduct were forwarded to the Waukesha County DA's Office for review.
