WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Music poured from the Waukesha County Technical College courtyard as students, faculty and staff commemorated Hispanic Heritage month Wednesday.
This year's seventh annual event continues to reflect and recognize the many contributions of individuals with Hispanic heritage.
The event was carried out by the school's Multicultural Resource Center.
"It's important for the school to have it, because it helps us as students feel comfortable here, and it helps us just show other students the communities that live here go to school here, come celebrate too," said student Erika Martinez.
National Hispanic Heritage month runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
