Waukesha County Parks opens lifeguard recruitment, offering paid training
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha County Parks has begun its search for seasonal lifeguards at swimming beaches in Fox Brook Park in Brookfield and Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls.
The county will provide free training for the required Red Cross Lifeguard and Waterfront Skills certifications to qualified applicants during the hiring process.
In a release announcing the job availabilities on Thursday, March 30, County Executive Paul Farrow emphasized the importance of lifeguarding as a summer job, stating that it not only serves the community but also offers invaluable work experience for individuals pursuing long-term professional careers.
Waukesha County aims to hire at least 30 lifeguards to fill the vacant positions.
The positions, available for candidates aged 16 and older, will run from early June to mid-August with weekly hours ranging from 20 - 40. Depending on experience, hourly wages vary from $10.87 to $14.42.
Interested applicants, including those seeking certification, can apply at WaukeshaCounty.gov/Lifeguard. Experienced lifeguards are also encouraged to apply for lifeguard supervisor positions at WaukeshaCounty.gov/AquaSup.
