Found safe: Amber Alert canceled for 10-year-old Walworth girl

WALWORTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Amber Alert for 10-year-old Jocelyn Van Duyn of Walworth, has been canceled. 

The Wisconsin Department of Justice reported Tuesday morning, Dec. 15, Jocelyn was located and is safe. 

Officials say Jonathan Van Duyn, Jocelyn's biological father, was taken into custody without incident in Indianapolis. 

Jonathan will be held in Indiana before being extradited to McHenry County, Illinois, where he is wanted for an active warrant.

The DOJ says Jocelyn's family traveled to Indiana Tuesday to be reunited with her. 

This remains an active investigation.

WALWORTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The search is on to find a 10-year-old Walworth County girl at the center of an Amber Alert. Officials believe Jocelyn Van Duyn is with her biological father, Jonathan Van Duyn, who drives a white Dodge Ram truck with IL plate 167007F, no topper and may be pulling a camper with WI plate 269-02-R-V. 

Authorities describe 33-year-old Van Duyn -- who also goes by nicknames "Kyle" or Wolfy" -- as a white male, 6' tall, weighing 220 pounds, with blue eyes and very short brown hair.

WALWORTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Walworth police are searching for a missing 10-year-old girl. Authorities say Jocelyn Van Duyn was last seen on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 258 Fox Lane in Walworth, just east of Town Hall Road. Officials believe Jocelyn may be with her father somewhere in Illinois. 

According to Walworth police, Jocelyn left her home some time between 8 p.m. and midnight on Saturday. She was not wearing a coat and did not pack a bag. However, she took her cat and $30. 

Police say it's unclear if Jocelyn was picked up by someone or left on foot. 

Officials describe Jocelyn as a white female, standing 5'3" tall, weighing 140 pounds, with hazel eyes, and brown, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with the Eiffel tower on it, black pants, and dark colored tennis shoes.

According to police, Jocelyn is from the Wonder Lake, Illinois area and goes to school there. 

Authorities believe she may be with her father somewhere in Illinois; his address is unknown. 

Police say Jocelyn's father may be driving a silver 2019, 4-door Jeep with expired Illinois plate BU27893.

Anyone with information on Jocelyn's whereabouts is urged to contact the Walworth Police Department at 262-275-6585. 

An active investigation is underway with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
