MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- So far, Wisconsin has sent out about 1.1 million absentee ballots. As of Thursday morning, Sept .24, about 122,000 of the ballots have been returned.
In Milwaukee County, about 192,000 have been sent out and about 10,800 have been returned, or 5.6 percent.
For comparison, in Waukesha County about 95,000 ballots have been sent out, and nearly 12,000 have ben returned, or about 12.5 percent.
"Send those ballots back as soon as you get them, as soon as a voter has a ballot they shoudl be sending those ballots back. Let's use time on our side here and make sure that if that's the method you would like to vote by, then to return that ballot right away," said Meagan Wolfe, administrator for the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
